1920 Newsboy+ Blue Barrier

Outer material: 100% virgin wool. Lining material: 100% cotton. Lining band: 66% cotton, 34% polyamide, with “rut un wiess” edge.

Our 1920 NEWSBOY+ Blue Barrier impresses with its multi-faceted color scheme, which only reveals the real art upon closer inspection. The supposedly dark-looking material is lightened up by light blue elements and a soft shade of green creates a warm impression.

This outer material is easy to wear in autumn but also in spring. The medium-weight fabric from the Harris Tweed mill has a stiffer feel and gives the cap a good stand. Harris Tweed, one of the most sought-after wool textiles in the world, is made in the Scottish Outer Hebrides.

We couldn't help it, because the real NEWSBOY at the time was actually much larger in head volume than our “normal” 1920 NEWSBOY. That's why we created the 1920 NEWSBOY+, a game type. It has 15% more volume in the head. This means that the fabric falls significantly looser and can be laid even further to the side for an individual look.

The 1920 NEWSBOY+ is a casual cap with a fixed peak that can be easily bent into shape. And a soft round head sewn from eight spittles. A button is sewn on top of the head for decoration. The outer material is pulled over the peak to the middle. The cap has a 2 cm wide bar all around.

Who doesn't know the old black and white photographs from the turn of the century. Everyone wore a hat: newsboys, longshoremen and steel workers, farmers, beggars, criminals, every trade. Back then, only noble men and women wore hats.

The numerous variants of the caps were intended for busy life, mostly for work, but also for sport. In the middle of the 20th century, caps were rediscovered, free from prejudice and class, they conquered free spirits and artists. But she still carries a symbol within her. Because no one can ignore the fact that a cap wearer exudes an individuality that would be significantly less without one.
